The Kove 450 rally is the first Chinese motorcycle that was developed as a stand-alone design.
Kove Motorcycles was founded in 2007 by Zhang Xue a former professional enduro and off road rider. They have multiple factories in the motorcycle Mecca of Chongqing which is the massive Chinese hub of motorcycle and parts manufacturing. They produce nearly all the components in house. So its no surprise that given the founders background that several of the companies motorcycles are aimed at the off road market. All of them have been interesting and useful bikes but one has been eagerly anticipated by Rally riders and enthusiasts for years. This is the Kove 450 rally and its just been released after being in development for 4 years.
The level of detail which you will find on the Kove Rally bikes is incredible. The range was displayed in recent months at the EICMA show in Milan and the rave reviews came from all quarters and have created a sizable chattering among the motorcycle classes. There is no doubt that China is coming head on towards the Western motorcycle market so lets embrace it, take advantage of it and save a bundle of cash at the same time. Look at the prices !.
With spiraling Western manufacturing costs, cross border tax's and high inflation the rally market along with the whole Western World of motorcycling has seen new motorcycle prices climb relentlessly. The Chinese have of course been widely immune to this and seem to live in their own economic bubble continuing to be the workshop of the World. Whether its the clothes on our back, the phone and wallet in our pocket and the white goods that wash the clothes on our back, nearly everything we own is made in the East. As they started, their economic climb in the noughties, they did gain a reputation for poor quality, but that was a long time ago and the Chinese learn fast and are eager for market share. The Chinese motorcycle market now dwarfs the combined Western industry by at least 10 fold and this is on the back of computerized industrialization and high quality.
